First, we handled the structural work. Then, we added insulation, roofing, windows, doors, and interior finishing. In the end, this created a versatile outdoor space. In fact, it now works just like a true extension of the home, no matter the season.
Client Brief
The client wanted more than a summer garden room. Instead, they needed a space that would stay comfortable all year long. So, they asked for full insulation to manage the cold in winter and the heat in summer. Additionally, they wanted high-quality windows and doors. These would bring in natural light and fresh air, while also keeping the space secure. On top of that, they needed strong roofing and cladding that would last for years. Finally, they wanted a clean interior finish, ready for use as a home office, studio, gym, or relaxation space. Overall, the design also had to blend naturally into the garden.
Our Approach to This Garden House Build
To begin with, we prepared and levelled the site. Next, we installed a reinforced foundation. This gave the structure a stable, long-term base. After that, we built a precise timber frame to form the shell of the garden house. Then, we added full insulation to the walls, floor, and roof. As a result, the space stays comfortable no matter the weather outside. Following this, we fitted durable cladding and a weatherproof roof. This step gave the build lasting protection and a modern look. We then installed high-quality windows and doors for light, airflow, and security.
Finally, we finished the interior to a high standard. We also added electrical points for lighting and appliances. In short, the space was ready for immediate, everyday use.

Challenges Overcome
Building a fully insulated, weatherproof structure takes care at every step. For instance, we had to avoid cold spots from the foundation right up to the roofline. Meanwhile, site access and material delivery needed careful planning. This kept the build running smoothly.
On top of that, the weather during construction meant we had to stay flexible with scheduling. Even so, we kept quality high throughout. Likewise, coordinating the structural, insulation, and finishing trades took careful sequencing. As a result, the final build came together seamlessly.
Result
In the end, the client now has a genuinely usable, year-round outdoor space. It performs just as well as it looks. Because it’s comfortable in every season, and finished to a high standard, it blends naturally into the garden. Ultimately, it adds real function and lasting value to the property.
